Tara's Tale!

I enjoyed this walk across the fields of Great Coxwell which was very scenic. Some of the fields might have cows in them so be aware however most of the walk you can run off your lead but remember the Country Code, oh and there are quite a few stiles on this walk

Start Point

The Trail starts at the far end of Great Coxwell village

Drive east out of Highworth on the B4019 passing through the National Trust village of Coleshill.  Take the first turning right after Badbury Hill signposted to Great Coxwell. Drive all the way through the village nearly to the end and park up on the right just in front of the 30 mph sign and footpath sign in front of Wrekin Cottage and the walk starts from the footpath sign post to Coleshill  (see map)

On the way into the village you will drive past the great coxwell barn which is owned by the National Trust, if you have time take a look at this impressive c13th building

Directions

1: Walk up the gravel path and cross over the stile at the end

Turn right and walk around the edge of the field, walk past the first stile that you see on your right and continue straight ahead with the tree line on your right

8: Cross over the next stile and continue along the edge of the field and through the metal gate turning left up the track

9: Walk up the track to the top of the hill and then turn right where the tracks cross and continue along this track (look out for the blue bridleway arrow)
