Directions
1. From the car park walk up
the tarmac path on the left
side of ranger center and around
the left side of the lake along
either the
upper cycle path or lower lake path.
2. Cross the long bridge over
the lake and then turn left along
the cycle path.
3. At the end of the gravel path
continue on tarmac path that bears
around to the right then the left
and head towards the spiral bridge
that crosses over the motorway.
As you approach put dogs on the
lead for obvious safety reasons.
4. Cross over the spiral bridge
and then go through the kissing
gate on the right and head diagonally across
the field to the top left corner.
5. Go through the kissing gate
in the corner and follow the foot
path to the right through the wooded area heading
up the hill.
6. Leave the wooded area and
take the foot path along the top
of edge of the field keeping the
hedge line on your right. Enjoy
the views.
7. In the corner of the field
take the footpath down the hill
sign posted to Hodson. Bear right
and go through the kissing gate
then turn right again and up the bank
and continue along the path to the
next kissing gate
8. Go through the kissing gate,
turn left and walk along the edge
of the field keeping the trees to
your left.
9. Just past the big oak tree
turn left and go through the kissing
gate to walk along the path through
the trees.
10. After a short while cross
the stile on your right side that
leads back into
the field and turn left to continue
around the edge of the field heading
towards the mast.
11. After the corner of
the field cross over the stile on
your left into the road. Put dogs
on the lead at this point. Turn
right walk along the road and down the
hill.
There are no foot paths along
the road for about 200 yards so
take care! Once around the corner
you can walk along the grass verge
and over road bridge above the motorway.
12. Continue along the road through
the traffic lights, down the
quiet road and around the bend at
the bottom. Pass the kissing
gate into the field and past "Broome
Manor Cattery"
13. On the apex of the next
bend turn right into Coate Water,
cross over the long wooden bridge
and continue along the path.
14. Cross back over the bridge
and then either take the left path
and walk along the water's edge
or continue straight ahead along
the top cycle path back to the car.
